Vintage hand built curved shell-shaped settee with coil sprung seat
Elegantly curved 1940s kidney/shell shaped settee made using traditional, very robust, joinery methods.
This shapely settee would work brilliantly in a bay window. Or perhaps it would be best appreciated in the middle of a room so it could be viewed from all angles. The medium height of the back means that it is ideal to divide a room.
The dimensions of the settee offer a great amount of seating for the little space that it takes up.
The settee offers low but excellently roomy and supportive seating. The shape of the seat ensures good lower back support and a firm seat is created by the springs. The coil springs push against the seat so it where it has gentle curves it will always have gentle curves.
Curved settees like this work wonderfully at parties as guests are gently turned in towards each other.
The settee stands on dark oak legs and sits firmly on the floor.
Condition: Good with some signs of age and use. Original pink colour patternedr draylon upholstery is in used but fair condition considering the vintage of this piece.
Some cat clawing evident on the arms but our upholsterer Tom will be more than happy to give you a quote and carry out any re-upholstery that you may want doing to fit your colour scheme.
