Rare oval teak and beech dining table by Borge Mogensen 1954, Extends
Rare Danish midcentury teak and beech oval top dining table with single leaf to extend it. Made by Soborg Mobelfabrik.
Stunning small dining table with teak oval top and standing on beech tapering legs which are finished with teak feet.
The use of 2 woods to contrast each other is very typical of the early 1950s and something done by several Danish designers
This light and elegant midcentury classic was produced using only the best solid block wood furniture boards onto which a teak veneer is fitted. This construction means a very light weight yet incredibly strong construction.
The oval top slides open and you can insert the extra leaf to allow the table to comfortably seat 6-8.
The leaf does not store inside the table.
The tapering legs are bolted directly to the sub-frame which is made entirely of solid beech that has an oiled finish giving it a lovely golden patina.
They remove with ease for flat packed transport of the whole table.
Condition: Immaculate with stunning patina and original oiled finish.
Table is marked with makers mark to underside.
