Vintage teak framed 3 seat sofa designed by Grete Jalk for France & son, 1961
Wonderful midcentury Danish design 3 seater settee designed by Grete Jalk for France & son, model 128
This lovely spacious and slender 3 seater settee is both a delight to look at and to lounge on with its single sprung cushion seat and back which offer superb comfort.
The sofa has been loved, cared for and looked after as it is entirely original finish and upholstery.
The brightness of the yellow is so hard to find in any modern upholstery today and this colour really is a perfect match for the rich teak frame.
The previous owner, who bought the sofa along with a matching in 1964, to fit their 1962 architect designed home, have looked after it amazingly.
The cushions have the original upholstery from France & Son over the original sprung insides. Both the cushions are fully upholstered so you can flip them over and use both sides.
The sofa frame has been lightly oiled and has stunning patina and very minor signs of age and use.
The sofa is old but as good as new.
The frame is strong and all the seat EXPERSPRING is original and unbroken.
It can be quickly and safely dismantled for easy transport / international shipping as the frame is made to fit the France and Son principle of knock-down design.
Condition: Immaculate with rich patina and minor signs of age.
The frame is clearly marked and embossed with the gold MADE IN DENMARK and the silver France & son Disc. signed C W France
