Grete Jalk for France & son teak 3 seat sofa, 1961
Wonderful midcentury Danish design 3 seater settee designed by Grete Jalk for France & son, model 128
This lovely spacious and slender 3 seater settee is both a delight to look at and to lounge on with its single sprung cushion seat and back which offer superb comfort.
The brightness of the yellow is so hard to find in any modern upholstery today and this colour really is a perfect match for the rich teak frame.
The 6 individual cushions have the original sprung interiors covered with 1970s bright yellow upholstery.
The cushions are fully upholstered so you can flip them over and use both sides.
The sofa frame has been lightly oiled and has stunning patina and very minor signs of age and use.
The sofa is old but as good as new as we have cleaned and restored the frame to its full glory.
A repair has been carried out on the rear top section of the sofa leg where a plug has been inserted to fill a hole made by the poor attempts of previous owner to fix a broken bolt.
The bolt has been replaced and the sofa is 100% as it left the factory with all the original and correct bolts.
It can be quickly and safely dismantled for easy transport / international shipping as the frame is made to fit the France and Son principle of knock-down design.
Condition: Very good with rich patina and minor signs of use and agerelated wear on the upholstery.
The frame is clearly marked and embossed with the gold MADE IN DENMARK and the silver France & son Disc. signed C W France
