Set of 4 vintage Trestle and Flipper chairs designed by Victor Bernt for Soren Willadsen, 1972
Set of 4 original and extremely striking dining chairs in orange and natural pine designed by the architect Victor Bernt.
Designer: Victor Bernt - Producer: A/S Søren Willadsen - Model: "Trestle and Flipper chairs" - Year of design: circa 1972
Also affectionaly known as "Luffe chairs" the design makes refined use of the aesthetic possibilities of laminated wood in the moulded seats and backs. To really show of the shapes in the design, the chairs are finished in vibrant orange.
The orange is original to the design but the current finish is new, professional and unused.
The chairs are surprisingly comfortable as the curved back, armrests and seat are shaped to fit the human body.
A rare and collectable design way ahead of its time. We believe the "Trestle and Flipper chairs" to be the main inspiration for the Copenhague Chair Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec designed for the recently redesigned University of Copenhagen (KUA).
Condition: excellent, the orange seats are perfect and unused. The pine has aged nicely and displays a lovely patina.
