Vintage J77 off-white stick back chair by Folke Pålsson for FDB, circa 1960
Functionalist and elegant vintage Danish stick back chair.
Designer: Folke Pålsson - Producer: FDB (Danish Consumers' Co-operative Society) - Model: J77 - Year of design: 1960s
The chair is made entirely of solid beech which is lacquered in an off-white paint.
The J77 Chair was rereleased by Hay in 2011 and is still manufactured today in Denmark. However the chair we have available is an early original produced by FDB.
The light and airy design of the chair as well as its strength makes it ideal for use in any room of the house -bathroom, kitchen, study, landing etc
The chairs legs are designed to be removable for shipping -part of the Pålsson's and the FDB's aim to offer well considered, inexpensive, functionalist design to a wider audience.
Condition: The chair is in very good vintage condition. It is strong and clean. The lacquered finish is chipped, scratched and worn but this gives the chair charming character.
