Vintage Hans Wegner chair in beech with laminated teak back and seat uniquely designed for Fritz Hansen 1949.
A lovely pair of identical chairs ranking as some of the finest Nordic design icons.
A wonderful design where a large colour is mirrored by a thin outline of a seat floating above the frame.
The chairs, a matchig pair is available, are constructed from laminated teak shells mounted to beech frame.
This was Wegners only period using laminated wood in his designs and once the series was designed he abandoned it in favour of solid timbers.
The series comprises a single chair, a bench seat, dining table, dining chair and coffee table all solely designed and produced by Fritz Hansen.
Condition: The chair has unique patina with light surface scratches and minor chip on the seat.
The chair is stamped to the seat underside with Fritz Hansen Logo.
