Very unique antique writing bureau in golden solid oak with curved drawer fronts, brass handles and all locking drawers - writing desk
3 large drawers provide storage in combination with the shallow top drawer and internal compartments and letter draers.
All the larger drawers are lockable with the same key.
A generous drop down and under-supported writing surface reveals internal shallow letter drawers and compartment with door flanked by additional deep compartment drawers.
To either side are 3 drawers all of identical width & depth for storage of letters, pens, envelopes etc.
This bureau is a fantastic statement of beauty, practicality and secrets as it has a drawer that is held locked by hidden lock!
Condition: Excellent beautiful wood grain patterns and colour.
Clear bees waxed finish protects but also brings out the beauty of the wood.
Locks in good working order and key supplied.
Made in Denmark as special order to previous owner by Master cabinet maker Valdemar Bendixen, Grindsted.
His label is present on the back and the quality of workmanship can be seen in the fine dovetail joins as well as the fit and finish of all the drawers.
