Set of 8 vintage beech frame dining chairs with teak backrest and NEW woven papercord seats. Model CH23 designed 1950 by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen.
A very stylish, elegant and comfortable set of dining chairs with seats in woven paper cord, the seats have all be re-corded in new woven papercord and will last for 40+ years daily use.
The beech frames have been cleaned and waxed before the new cord has been woven, maintaining the appealing vintage patina throughout the chairs.
This rare dining chair is an early entry into the Hans Wegner catalouge produced by Carl Hansen, and remains an iconic chair within the history of Danish design. The chair is still produced today, however only in walnut and oak.
The curved, teak backrest offers a nice warm contrast to the lighter beech frame, and is also supurbly comfortable - making it ideal for even the longest of dinner parties!
This set is the perfect addition to your dining room, with their light and airy complection, the chairs are truly timeless in their design.

The chairs are in great condition after refurbishment. One of the chairs has been repaired in the past and there are small repair marks, however the chair remains solid and sturdy.
