Vintage CH23 dining chair with oak frame, teak backrest and new woven papercord seat designed in 1950 by Hans Wegner and produced by Carl Hansen & Son.
A very stylish, elegant and comfortable dining chair with seat in woven paper cord, the seats have all be re-corded in new woven papercord and will last for 40+ years daily use.
The oak frames have been cleaned before the new cord has been woven, maintaining the appealing vintage patina throughout the chairs.
This rare dining chair is an early entry into the Hans Wegner catalouge produced by Carl Hansen, and remains an iconic chair within the history of Danish design. The chair is still produced today, however only in walnut and oak.
The curved, teak backrest offers a nice warm contrast to the lighter oak frame, and is also supurbly comfortable - making it ideal for even the longest of dinner parties or as a fantastic desk chair.
